About the Journal

Aims & Scope

Sustainability and Social Impact is a new six-monthly online journal dedicated to publishing the most significant original research, commentary, and analysis of direct relevance to the diverse community of sustainable researchers and professional. The journal will highlight all facets of sustainability: from fundamental scientific advances to the design, scale-up and optimization of importance to society.

Sustainability is an essential topic and the focus for current industry and society, therefore many of which carry major scientific and societal consequences. The journal will showcase the breadth of the discipline by covering all aspects of sustainability and transformations over a wide range of scales, including:

  • Sustainable raw material processing and resource recovery
  • Sustainable energy and environment
  • Sustainable supply chain, storage, packaging, and recycling
  • Sustainable process, modeling, intensification, control, and safety

Sustainability and Social Impact aims to publish studies from a broad scope of systems that significantly advance fundamental research, aid product and process development and explore new technological, business practices, policy and social solutions that impact to the society and drive toward sustainable lifestyle, examples of which are described at the end. We particularly welcome engineering and social solutions to the global Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations.

The journal will provide a forum for valuable interactions within the community in both academia and industry, in addition to promoting the exchange of ideas with multi and interdisciplines maximizing scientific and societal impact. The journal is also strongly committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion as a key part of our mission.

In addition to research published as Articles and Analyses, Sustainability and Social Impact will also feature Reviews, Perspectives, Comments, News & Views, Q&As, Correspondence and Research Highlights on important developments in the field that will be of broad interest to sustainable researchers and professionals.

Sustainability and Social Impact will be characterized by a dedicated team of academic and professional editors, a fair and rigorous peer-review process, high standards of copy-editing and production, swift publication, and editorial independence.
